Does my plan include calls, SMS and personal hotspot?

Check the product details first. A data plan provides mobile internet access; it should not be assumed to include a local number, carrier voice calls or SMS. These features must be explicitly included in the purchased plan. Messaging and voice or video calls through internet apps are different from carrier calls and SMS and use data. If you keep your original number active for messages, check the settings and any charges with that carrier. Personal hotspot availability depends on the plan, device and network configuration. Check the hotspot conditions before buying, or ask support if they are unclear. When tethering is allowed, connected devices generally use the same plan allowance, subject to its actual rules.
